Biography: Dr. AmanPreet Badhwar is an Assistant Professor at the University of Montreal, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pharmacology and Physiology and the Institute of Biomedical Engineering, and a Principal Investigator at the Centre de recherche de l'Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal. Dr. Badhwar directs the Multiomics Investigations of Neurodegenerative Diseases Lab (MIND Lab, badhwarmindlab.ca), which focuses on integrating observations from in-vivo imaging and molecular ‘omics’ in the study of Alzheimer's disease (AD), vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID), and other neurodegenerative diseases, with the goal of discovering new biomarkers and therapeutic targets, and improving methods to speed the drug discovery process. In recent years, Dr. Badhwar was awarded the Chercheur-boursier Junior 1 from the Fonds de recherche du Québec (2020), and the Diversity and Inclusivity Champion Award (2022) from the Organization for Human Brain Mapping.
